France Events Calendar

France is a huge country with diverse regions with each possessing its distinctive cultures and historical treasures. Innumerable events take place all throughout the year and no matter when you decide to visit the country, you will be able to soak up its festive spirit.

The carnival of Nice – This legendary carnival is a 10 day celebration that draws people from all over the world. The highlights of the carnival are larger than life parades, concerts, street theatre, fireworks etc.

Art Rock Festival – The Art Rock Festival in Saint-Brieuc's offers a combination of modern music with performance art and attracts almost 35,000 visitors each year. It is usually a 3 day festival and is held each year in the last week of May.

Beaujolais Nouveau's Release – At the strike of midnight on the third Thursday in November every year, the much-awaited enticing young wine of Beaujolais Nouveau takes place. This is one of the best times of the year to visit this part of France and indulge in lots of wine drinking. In Lyon this occasion is marked with music and fireworks.

Christmas Markets – During the Christmas season several cities in France feature special Christmas markets to celebrate the festive spirit and usher in the new year. It is also the best time to buy gifts such as handcrafted ornaments, gifts and food products.

Bastille Day – This French national holiday honors the storming of the Bastille, which marked the beginning of the French Revolution on 14th July 1789. Bastille Day is usually celebrated with lots of amazing festivities, celebrations and not to forget fabulous food.

All through out the day and night the place is ablaze with musical processions including live DJs performances and full-scale orchestras.
