Most cafés, bars and restaurants serve food local to the area - the Provençal cuisine with influences from Italy. There are several pizza restaurants but keep in mind that the pizza is not the typical American style but has a very thin base. Many pizzas are served with a few olives on top unless you request otherwise.

Local specialties include Bouillabaisse, Salade Niçoise and Socca. The region is also famous for its cheeses which are usually available in local supermarkets as well as at market stalls.

The French Riviera is also famous for its wines notably Cassis and Bandol. Wine tasting is a popular activity and you can sample some of the best wines in areas east of St. Raphael and on Nice hills.
